EDRG 3321 Maya Angelou
Today in class was a WOW factor for me. I personally had not heard from Maya Angelou before and she is an amazing woman. Maya is a poet, writer, performer, teacher, and director. To live a life as she has, Maya has so much knowledge and wisdom and was very visible in her interview. There were certain moments where I went said in my mind “that makes sense now”. My eyes were glued to the screen just wanting her to talk more. I found her so interesting to listen to her. When she was talking about Shakespeare and how she related the author to being a bare foot woman just like her. It makes you realize that children as relate things to their own personal experiences and teachers tend to forget it. We as soon to be teachers need to make sure we give our students all the opportunities to our students and let them know we are there for them and what they need; we will do our best to provide it for them. The students are the future and we need not to put limitations on them and let them explore to their heart desire. Poetry can be interpreted in many ways to people who read it. I wanted to listen to Maya Angelou keep on reciting the poems that have touch her over the years and that she has keep dear to her heart. This was an awesome video in class. Thanks for sharing it.

I agree with the WOW factor, she is a very interesting poet to hear as she both spoke and recited poetry. I thought it was great how she thought Shakespeare was a barefoot black girl from the south, because when she recited shakespears poem it did sound like that.
